No one is listening to Kfan. :(
I am a known self-publisher, and I have gladly helped Kickstart projects that were interesting to me, and I am 100% interested in ways of subverting traditionally closed publishing systems, cutting out middle men, directly funding the makers, on and on and on. But lately, on occasion, and particularly with certain well-known personalities and web comics lining up to pass their hats around, I feel like: instead of “If you give us money we’ll make this thing” how about: make the thing because you are passionate about making the thing, and then once you’ve put in the work I’ll support you and buy that thing. Just on occasion I feel like that.
