1993/1994: Reva & Erin’s dorm room at JMU. Erin’s parents had recently gotten divorced, and she was starting to drop out of the picture. Reva had this thing where she kept her Marlboros hard pack down the front of her jeans. Jeff Buckley’s “Grace” is playing. Reva is the only person I know who’s into him; she had loaned me the cassette, saying “It’s a little yell-y in parts, but it’s really good. You’ll like it.” We’re absolutely floored that the entire world isn’t talking about this album, all the time.
