I keep waiting for there to be a resurgence of interest in Prince Paul’s “Prince Among Thieves.” If ever there was an underappreciated album waiting to be rediscovered by a music blogger and consequently beaten into the ground, this is it. It’s exactly the right mix of cult-appreciated, somewhat critically-acclaimed, and pop culture-bereft.
I shouldn’t even post about it, because I love this album and don’t want to lose it. But whatever. I don’t play it like that. Sting says you have to set things free.
