  • coworker #1: HEY! Did you see my Jayhawks win last night?
  • me: Hmm?
  • coworker #1: Jayhawks, last night!
  • me: I have no idea what you're talking about.

  • me: And this was for...?
  • coworker #1: [defeated] ...Basketball. The NCAA championship.
  • me: Well that's great.
  • coworker #2: [yelling] He's totally kidding!
  • coworker #1: It doesn't look like he's kidding. [points to my computer] Look them up so you can see what a Jayhawk looks like.
  • me: The Jayhawks, that's a band though, right? A spin-off of Uncle Tupelo or something. [goes to Wikipedia]
  • coworker #1: No, look up...just...OK.
  • me: Weird I don't see anything about Uncle Tupelo in this article. Am I thinking of Wilco?
  • coworker #1: [wanders off]
  • me: Hey, a list of what happened in 1986.
