“salt water, salty air, salted clothes, warm sun, sun block, iced coffee, crab shells, sea shells, sea gulls, butterflies headed out to sea, sea grass, swim suits, the radio distorted and loud, the radio muffled in the sound of the windows down, friends laughing, freckles like a thousand little tans, forgetting to go in the water and getting too hot and everyone gets quiet and begins hallucinating and feeling miserable before someone remembers and you all walk like the living dead towards the iced ocean and fall in and then everything. becomes. clear. again.”
